What an awesome story. It made me relive my own baby's birth -- I, too, was astonished to find that I was in transition after only a few hours of labor. I was also incredibly polite during my entire labor, though I was convinced beforehand that I'd be like a drunken sailor (I have a bit of a pottymouth, ya see). I'm told I was even cracking jokes between pushes! My husband is a medical student and my OB didn't show up until after I'd already been pushing a little bit, and I was like PUT ON YOUR SCRUBS, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO CATCH THIS BABY!
But ah...that moment...when you first hold your child. Unbelievable!
